Pile of leafs found in the bin at the graphic design studio of friends of mine.
In the textile made in Japan the interspace between the leaves got textured by raking it with paste and the parts under the leaves stayed clean. I like the contrast between the clean leaves and interspace and I started to do some first sketching to define how the silhouette and the space around it could play a fundamental role in the characteristics of a plant shape. For this I used the leaves that I found in the bin.

This image I found after reading about the current exhibition on Matisse in the Stedelijk in Amsterdam. Time for me to visit The Oasis of Matisse!
